Success rates in IVF need to be qualified. We hear people talk about 60% success rate, 70% success rate, what do all these mean? To me, it means nothing. Because if I were the couple, I want to know what is the chance of me taking a baby, a healthy baby home after all these treatments. We are looking at take home baby rates. Success rates in terms of that, it must be directed at that. So, what is the average take home baby rate? It’s in the best of centres, about 30%. Therefore, the take home baby rate is what we are looking at, the bottom line, and that is what you need to understand.
