Easy homemade nut milk recipe

In our latest HealthTree blog, we want to embrace a healthy lifestyle and that certainly doesn’t mean you have to give up your love of chocolates, donuts, or your vanilla milkshake. There are healthy alternatives out there such as Nut Milk.

Since most homes might have pantry staples like nuts, dates, and various seeds and superfoods on hand, whipping up a batch of nut milk is a super-easy way to save money and reduce waste. Plus, if you’re ever out of coffee creamer, you can just make some homemade nut milk!

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp of Sprouted ABC (Almond, Brazil & Cashew) Spread, Almond Butter or Cashew Butter
  • 2 cups of filtered water
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar-free Maple Syrup1
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix the Sprouted ABC spread with the filtered water, sugar-free maple syrup, and Vanilla Essence (optional) in a high-powered blender for 20 seconds. Then blend it all until it’s smooth and frothy.

2. You can use a measuring cup or large bowl with the nut milk bag to strain the mixture. Then pour in the nut milk and squeeze the last remaining bit of nut pulp. So, nothing goes to waste.

3. Transfer milk to an airtight jar or bottle and store in the fridge. Shake well before drinking. Enjoy!

How to store Nut Milk

Homemade nut milk will last 2-3 days in the fridge, though best to take it fresh.

Can you do anything with the leftover nut pulp?

You sure can! You will notice after squeezing the nut milk there will be some nut pulp left inside the bag. You can use the remaining mixture for curries, smoothies or put it in a baking tray and bake at 200 Celsius for 2-3 hours until it’s dry and use as baked goods such as homemade granola.

What is ABC spread?

ABC spread uses almond, brazil, cashew nuts that have been sprouted.

What is sprouting?

Sprouting is the germination or sprouting of nuts and seeds. The nut will taste so much better than its roasted counterpart! The nut is much crunchier in texture and blends up into the most deliciously thick nut butter.
